He glided along through his city's skyscraper's passageways and pondered when the time would come. The sun had set and everything was still illuminated. It was still so bright his shades actually darkened when the sun dipped behind the horizon. The summons hit him and his board snapped forward tossing him off and sending him spiraling downward.
"Dammit man."
He called the board back to him as he fell through the air but it collided with a passing vehicle at the last second.
"Dammit man!"
He shook his head saw the rod sticking out from the building grabbed it spun around it while radioing the office to have them send another board. He let go of it launching himself up at an angle then bounced of the side of a passing car and ricocheted himself off building sides more passing cars then he started running up the side of another building he got the call. He kicked off flipping over in the air and the board snapped to his feet and continued the flip for him so that he ended right side up.
He knew what this meant but he shrugged his shoulders and shook his head he knew the call was not for him. They had spoken with him already and he knew where they're stood as well as they knew where he stood. He however did smile to himself as he thought the reactions of the others.

He moved over to his home floating high above the city itself and stepped off the board onto the waiting platform.
"You know they're probably in a panic don't you?"
"That will still meet our needs in the end never the less. The time has come for things to change again. You know we know its time for everyone else to know it."
The figures in the shadows stepped off the ledge and continued to walk away heading out of the city.
He shook his head knew no matter how many things he witnessed in his life those he had sworn to protect would always impress him. He moved off into his home as he laughed to himself and lit his cigarette.
